A correfroc celebration

EVERY year Palma celebrates the end of a devastating plague which, as legend has it, ended when the relics of Saint Sebastian were brought to the city. Sebastian was named patron saint of Palma on January 20, 1524, and now, in honour of this every year around this date the city parties!

There are concerts scheduled on Friday 21 at the Plaza España with the well known Spanish band, El Mago de Oz, and the following day in the same place the alternative rock band Pignoise will play.

Both days the music will start at 10pm.

Saturday night is also the night to catch the amazing fireworks and correfoc (running with fire). This will start down at the Parque del Mar, which is in front of the Cathedral, from 8pm onwards.

Then on the Sunday 23 the Mallorcan singer Maria del Mar Bonet and the Balearic Symphony Orchestra will perform together at the Theatre Principal at 8pm.

Entrance will be free.
