SPANISH food and drink came out tops in a recent survey. Paella was considered the most delicious national dish with 53 per cent of the vote, followed by 26 per cent for Italian pizza and pasta and 18 per cent for French crepes. Spain’s diet of seafood, rice, stews and olive oil was considered to be one of the healthiest by 64 per cent of people taking the survey.
Cava was voted best Christmas and New Year tipple by 88 per cent of respondents, beating French Champagne on both price and flavour.
The results of this survey of 4,000 people, was taken from a Facebook page for the Valencia Tourism Agency and Tour Spain: facebook.com/ValenciaFlavours.
“We are passionate about our food and are not surprised by the results of this poll,” said David Gomez of Valencia Tourist board in response to these results.
“In Valencia we are blessed with fantastic produce and climate which create wonderful dishes full of flavour and love, it is great that this has been appreciated overseas.”
