Nokia job cuts

FINNISH mobile phone maker Nokia allegedly plans to cut 1,800 jobs despite announcing a net profit of €529m for the three months to September compared to the €559m loss last year.

The sale of their smartphones grew by 61 per cent from a year ago to 26.5m units, but they face tough competition from Google’s Android operating system and Apple’s iPhone.
