I TOTALLY agree with the decision by Primark to withdraw the padded bras of their line in children’s bikinis. What’s more I think whoever made the decision to stock them in the first place should be seriously questioned as to their motives. As a dad of five girls I think the sexing up of these youngsters is not only unacceptable, but also extremely worrying.I TOTALLY agree with the decision by Primark to withdraw the padded bras of their line in children’s bikinis. The rise in paedophile crime has grown alarmingly over the last few years and incidents like this can do nothing but encourage these sicko members of society. The media also has a great deal to answer for. Everywhere you look, children’s TV, adverts, magazines and internet sites are full of these young ‘dolly’ children trying to look older than they are. For heaven’s sake get a grip. The innocence of childhood is a wonderful thing. To deny our youngsters the chance to enjoy it to the full is to my mind downright criminal. The awful, predominantly American, ‘pageants’ are another case in point. In my opinion the mental stress, strain and false values perpetrated on these children by those horrific ‘mothers’(and occasional fathers) is nothing short of child abuse and should result in criminal prosecution and the subsequent banning of all such events. You would have thought the horrific (still unsolved) murder of one of these tots would have woken them all up but it didn’t. We adults have a responsibility to our young, which, although sounding like an obvious statement, seems to have passed a large number of our peers completely by. It’s long past time to sort it out, before more of our youngsters are raped and murdered by paedos whipped up to a frenzy by the unacceptable decisions and actions of so-called responsible adults.
More rubbish about yours truly in last week’s letters. Now I’m accused of getting all my facts and figures from the headlines of the Sun and Daily Mirror. Frankly the only time I ever buy these two papers is when I’m in the UK and that’s only because being of open mind I like to observe other points of view. I wouldn’t dream of laying out the sort of money they charge for them in this country. No I’m strictly a Mail and Sunday Times man, but then if you had followed this column for any length of time you would already have guessed that. Nothing against Sun and Mirror readers of course. Each to his own I say. Anyway, page three doesn’t do much for me any longer. More’s the pity. Bring on the Viagra!
What an anti climax the so called ‘debate of the century’ turned out to be. I personally found the whole thing boring and utterly limp wrist’ed. All this tosh about the National Health Service unable to cope, crime on the streets, the break down of society and lack of jobs. None of them met the subjects head on. There are only two reasons for all these problems, too many immigrants and a too liberal PC and welfare state. Stop giving the layabouts state handouts and ‘compensayshuns’ for having their ‘feelings hurt’. Freeze ALL immigration from non EEC countries, except in the most extenuating of circumstances. Only allow into the country the same numbers of EEC citizens as those who choose to leave, and prosecute those whose claims and ‘uman rights’ demands are deemed frivolous by a specially set up tribunal. All the so called problems would immediately begin to improve and they could start to rebuild our country back to its original greatness. Try to do it without first tackling the true reasons and the task is virtually impossible. Personally I think all this political pussy footing is handing the BNP a veritable swathe of seats across the House of Commons and it’ll serve the whole lot of ‘em right.
Sometimes I really do despair ya know.
Have a good week.
Don’t blink or you may miss the ‘season’.
But whatever ya do.
Always keep the faith.
