A RUSSIAN electrician slept off a night’s drinking with a 15-centimetre knife stuck in his back and didn’t notice until his wife spotted it in the kitchen the next day. His drinking partner could face eight years in prison.

A TWO-year-old pet lion named Boomer, weighing 70 kilos, was on the loose near Ottawa (Canada). The male African lion escaped and is said to be harmless but police are taking no chances.
