THE remainder of the Daddy Cool musical show has been ‘prematurely ended’ due to ‘economic reasons’.
They have not been able to achieve the amount of visitors needed to cover the running costs for the show and its top class cast. Various performances of the show were set to be held between June 29 and September 23 at the Trui Theatre in Palma de Mallorca. This stage production came to Mallorca after a highly acclaimed and sold-out tour for six months in the Netherlands. Fans who had hoped to catch the show can still do so as soon Daddy Cool can be experienced in England and other countries.
‘Daddy Cool’ is about Sunny who comes to London from Jamaica as a young boy wanting to start a career as singer and dancer. He gets involved in a quarrel between two dance choruses and meets the love of his life. The old conflict between his mother Pearl and Ma Baker, the mother of his girlfriend Rose, threatens to end their love affair.
