AN ITALIAN citizen was arrested at Almeria Port for allegedly smuggling 22.85 kilos of hashish. According to the Guardia civil police report, the drug detection dog started to react to the smell of the illegal substance inside the vehicle. The 226 hashish packages were hidden inside the dashboard of the vehicle, which was modified to have a false bottom along its interior. The man was arrested for alleged crimes against public health, and is waiting to be seen by the preliminary investigation court in Almeria.
