A MAN was sentenced to 31 days of community service in Almeria for the physical abuse of his eight-year-old son.
The Moroccan man, aged 53, was just sentenced for a crime which took place in November 2009 after his son, aged eight, came home past his curfew. The father admitted to beating his son with a belt, leaving injuries which took 15 days to heal, according to a medical report presented to the court.
The judge heeded the public prosecutor’s request of 31 days of community service and a restraining order of 100 metres for one year. The latter has been fulfilled in the time the father was awaiting his sentencing.
