Vehicles destroyed in mystery blaze |
| SEVEN vehicles were found burned at an industrial warehouse in Nijar, at exit 494 of the A-7 motorway. The cause of the blaze is unknown, but fortunately no-one was injured. Police are investigating.

| SIERRO - THE castle in Sierro, one of the province’s most emblematic Nasrid monuments, has been totally refurbished, and it is hoped that it will bring more tourists to the area.

Carboneras architecture improved |
| CARBONERAS - MEMBERS of Carboneras Town Hall recently attended the inauguration of the area surrounding the San Andres Castle and the Glorieta square, accompanied by the hundreds of local residents. The improvement of this area cost 1.3 million euros and has been possible thanks to the central government’s Plan E and promoted by the council.

University promotes drug free life |
| ALMERIA - ALMERIA University’s Health Promotion Unit is carrying out a campaign this month with courses and workshops to teach the students at La Cañada campus to stay healthy. The university has also signed an agreement with the Delegation for Equality which intends to eradicate drug use on campus, not only the so-called hard drugs but also alcohol and tobacco. There will be 35,000 euros invested in the Project.

ALMERIA - THE Almeria Municipal Tourism Company is planning to promote the area on-line with interactive sites which aim to encourage tourists from all over the world. Under the slogan ‘Enamorados de Almeria’ (In love with Almeria), the campaign will show all the resources and sights which the province and mainly the capital city have to offer.
