A YOUNG woman died in an accident when the motorcycle on which she was riding was allegedly hit by another vehicle in Benidorm. The driver of the vehicle, a Romanian man aged 25, allegedly fled from the scene of the accident at the intersection of Avenida Jaume I and Paseo de las Acacias after hitting a motorcycle carrying a man and a woman, also from Romania.
Local police stopped and arrested the driver approximately one kilometre from the intersection. He is accused of involuntary manslaughter among other traffic infractions according to police. The female passenger of the motorcycle died and the young man was brought to Villajoyosa Hospital with multiple injuries.
