According to a police report, the young woman had gone onto the terrace to get some washing in the early morning and for reasons which are still unclear, she fell from a height of at least10 metres.
The girl, who was an only child, had just completed her high school studied at Miraya del Mar School and had been doing university entrance exams. She is reportedly very well known in the town of Velez-Malaga as her father worked for the town hall, belonged to one of the political parties and was a councillors for the socialist party, PSOE, in the 90s.
The mayor, Francisco Delgado, expressed his condolences to the family and confirmed that the town was very upset by what had happened.
The girl’s body was taken to the coroner’s office in Malaga for an autopsy to be carried out.
