The Wolf Valley Charity

• 24 Jul 2008 •

THE ninth annual Charity Day at Vale do Lobo, run by the Wolf Valley Charity, which was held recently, raised 54,000 euros.

The monies collected at this year’s event have been designated for the financing of industrial ovens and kitchen equipment for the Santa Casa da Misericordia day-care centre in Loule, without which it could not continue to provide hot meals to over 200 people per day; and to local carer Lidia Costa by providing a new vehicle, thus enabling her to carry on her work in transporting and assisting the homeless. The funds were raised via a golf tournament, tombola and book stalls and a gala dinner-dance, which included a raffle and an auction. Vale do Lobo CEO Diogo Gaspar Ferreira was invited to compere the auction and it seemed as if he was born to the job, as he managed to keep the crowd entertained as well as raising a huge part of the day’s total. The Wolf Valley Charity announced that they have now surpassed the half a million mark, thanks to the generosity of so many, and would like to extend their gratitude for all the support they have received. Next objective now is to reach the one million mark!
