TAXI DRIVERS in Malaga are threatening to go on strike on Thursday and Friday, the two busiest days of the Easter holiday, in protest over the issue of unused licences.
Around 700 drivers have demanded that the town hall accept the viability plan - which is currently suspended - to allow for licences not being used by self-employed drivers to be used elsewhere.
At the time of going to print, it had not yet been decided whether the strike would definitely take place as this will depend on a meeting at the arbitration service SERCIA. If it does go ahead, there will be picket lines at strategic points in the city including the airport and train station. |
