Torrevieja’s new guide to beautiful walks
• 18 Sep 2008 •
SALT, sailors and sand dunes - they’re all part of Torrevieja’s rich heritage - and they are the basis for a new guide of illustrated walks around the town and its surrounds.
Designed to both stimulate and inform, the new guide comes with a mini DVD, which can be downloaded to an iPod or MP3 player, giving commentary along the way.
There are three new walks and the first is dedicated to Torrevieja’s historic lifeline, salt. The route takes in fascinating places like the Museo del Mar y Sal, the old railway station, the Eres de Sal and the waterway channel between the sea and the salt lakes, as well as the Paseo Maritimo.
The second walk, the ‘Sailor’ route, starts in the town’s main square and guides the visitor down to the port, customs house, the casino and the fishing fleet.
The third one is dedicated to nature and offers a guided tour around La Mata’s stunning natural park.
Beautifully illustrated, the guides are available in Spanish, English, French and German, from the tourist information offices in the town. | Return to Top
