WITH Diane Keaton as the leading lady, Darling Companion is a comedy-drama film that revolves around the life of a couple who lose their beloved dog at the same time their marriage is being put to test. Beth (Keaton) is the wife of an ambitious and work-absorbed doctor named Joseph (Kevin Kline), and while their marriage deteriorates Beth’s relationship with her pet ‘Freeway’ and her children is strengthened. However, shortly after their daughter’s wedding, Joseph loses Freeway while on a walk, giving their marital issues a chance to surface.
