Often, when you start blogging you're writing to nobody.
I felt a bit odd about it in the beginning, penning my pearls of wisdom to a friend called cyberspace who didn't really want to engage.
After a little while though you get your readers. This takes tenacity because people drift by on the world wide web and then occasionally stick. You can help this by being controversial, by being loud, but good writing wins the day and you earn your audience.
That's one of the golden rules of the internet is that the content is king. You can get a trivial audience quickly, but lose them just as quickly because by their nature they're transient.
So why are EWN looking for bloggers?
Because we aim to become more interactive, to have local people tell us what's really happening locally, what they want to do, what they're doing this week, what are the special places to go and who they go to them with.
Here's some categories to give you an idea: Living in Spain, moving over, Costa Characters, legalities, illegalities, dodgy dealings, taking the heat, paradise lost or found, working in Spain, retiring in Spain, giving back to the community, charity, health, expat life, out and about, travelling around Spain, local bands, clubbing, my perfect place, motoring in Spain'.
There will be more categories, but it's a start.
And what do you get in return? The chance to show off your skills to a growing audience. There's also an award that we'll give away at the EuroWeeklyNews Christmas party, which promises to be bigger and glitzier this year than ever before.
So why not get started and find out how it's all done by clicking on this link.
