Politicians should mind their own business

READER Mike Brackenridge gets straight to the nub of why we suffer the long queues I mentioned.

He reminds us there was high unemployment in Spain when times were good.

He blames absurdly high employees’ social security payments and politically inspired draconian tax and labour laws. Putting it simply; politicians put two bricks around the necks of businesses then fail to figure out why they can’t swim.

If politicians could be taught to stop interfering with matters they have no experience in, or consult businesses first, the jobless total could be radically reduced.

If every business was obliged to put ‘Partnered by Politicians’ next to their trading name we would all get the message.

It is doubtful if politicians would.

Justice not so swift

PLEASE take a seat; you will need to on learning that a Murcia bar owner has been handed a €6,000 fine because one of his chairs collapsed under the weight of customer.

It was ruled that such a seat should be constructed to take the weight of any person.

If that is not farcical consider too; the case took nearly eight years for a finding to be delivered.

I imagine that particular bar owner won’t be inviting anyone to take a seat in future.
