When looking for a new dress for a Christmas party or a smart occasion the dresses I like are invariably radically expensive or very cheap (and look it too).
I recently went to the launch party of ‘Scarlett Black’ in London, a new fashion label that is both affordable and glamorous. Scarlett Black (scarlettblacklondon.com) uses only black fabrics and are extremely slimming, so when the designer Eliza Scarlett Woodcock asked me to wear one for the launch I jumped at the opportunity!
The launch was incredible, there was a performance from classical singer Camilla Kerslake, Gary Barlow’s first signing to his record label, She sang a classical version of ‘Rule The World’ in Italian and blew everyone away.
A belly dancer with a snake was there dancing around with the snake wrapping itself around her neck, which was great but slightly disturbing. And The Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Councillor Julie Mills popped in and was there looking very glamorous and wearing more bling than Ali G.
Near the end of the night Sian Evans former lead singer Kosheen was there and preformed her massive hit ‘Louder’. She was flipping amazing and Adam and I spent most of the night talking to her and probably getting in her personal space a bit to much.
She did say she could perform at our wedding, so Sian if you’re reading this I believe that is a verbal contract…and to finish all the proceedings of the night was a fashion show with all the dresses from Scarlett Black London.
I’m very proud of my friend Eliza; she’s only been up and running for a few months but she’s already been featured in Italian Vogue and has had amazing press so far.
On another note I would like to wish my Granny a very happy 93rd birthday. She’s gone against all the odds and is still here to put dad in his place, so happy birthday Granny I’m sure you’ll enjoy your pint of Baileys today!
