SPOILER ALERT: Stop reading NOW if you don't want to know what will happen soon on Coronation Street.

Coronation Street’s Tina McIntyre, played by Michelle Keegan, will plummet to her death on the soap next week.

The character’s brutal end will set in motion a murder hunt which will grip Weatherfield.

Tina, who has been having an illicit affair with Peter Barlow, will fall to her death from a building site following a dramatic confrontation with her killer.

Corrie viewers, who have known Tina was leaving the show for some time, are told to expect a 'shocking twist' when the scenes of her death and the aftermath are screened by ITV next week.

Recently Tina has been determined to win over her love interest, attempting to persuade him to leave pregnant wife Carla.

However, her imminent demise will mean an abrupt end to the affair.

Tina McIntyre’s dramatic exit from the show will air on May 27.

Corrie viewers will have the chance to watch four alternative showdowns with potential killers Peter, Carla, Rob Donovan and Tracy Barlow. These will be made available on the official Coronation Street website:

Following the fatal fall, as police begin their efforts to track down who is responsible for the crime, producers say that fans can expect a twist – or two.

Over the coming months the audience can expect to see the murderer desperately attempting to cover their tracks.

Actress Michelle Keegan has spoken at being surprised to find that her character is being written out of the soap for good – with no coming back.

She said: “I was shocked. Initially we thought that the door would be left open for her, which I think is every actor's ideal scenario.

“A few months later the producers came up with this amazing exit storyline for Tina - that she was going to be killed. My heart stopped when I first found out.

“I do completely understand why she's being killed, though - it's an amazing storyline and it will affect so many characters on the Street for the next year.”
