'Merciful' - 'Merciful' - Randi Marie Norderhsug

ArtRAMA – Modern day artist

Randi Marie Norderhsug, known in the artistic world as 'Rama' (which means Branch in Spanish), is an artist from Elverum, Norway, who has landed on the Costa with her artistic knowledge, ideas and suggestions on how to further the art world.

Like the majority of famous, infamous and yet-to-be-discovered artists, Randi is familiar and used to oils, acrylics, watercolours and pencil alike, but has arrived with new ideas, new concepts and a different thought process.

New projects include paintings created on canvas using no less than coffee! Yes, you read right, coffee. Some of us drink and eat it but Randi paints with it.

Giving thought into the idea, she discovered in creation whilst scratching through cupboards, boxes and hidden coves for paints and brushes, she discovered coffee.

Finding coffee, and an orange, as well as a roll of cling film, there happened to be a tea spoon lying around ... ‘What can I do with these four ingredients?’ Randi asked herself.

With a piece of thin blue paper in the house measuring 30 inches by 23 inches, Randi got thinking about how or what she could create.

With her paper set out and products around her, she squeezed the orange dry, dripping the juices into the coffee, adding a little water and creating a coffee coloured paste.

Paper and paste at hand but with no brushes available, Randi's quick thinking introduced her to painting by hand: using her right index finger she started to put finger to paper in her creation.

Forming the piece 'Merciful' Randi used her fingers, a tea spoon and a roll of cling film in the makings of a pattern which became a facial image, in this most interesting creation the end piece of art has been said to remind viewers of Bob Marley and Jesus Christ! An interesting duo but after more views, Jesus tops the rankings.

An interesting concept to art that has got Randi running with new ideas; she has created a piece named 'Chaos .... Or just another nightmare?' A personal favourite.

The piece is created using coffee and acrylic paints on canvas: it's a sit back, reflect and think about piece with a mass of colours.

A collection is currently underway for future viewing but to tease your interest Euro Weekly News have been given the privilege to show a few of this interesting artist’s conception.
