BODY FOUND: Missing teacher’s corpse discovered in canal in Spain

THE body of a missing thirty-four-year-old has been found in her car in a canal in Lleida, Cataluña.

Police are now investigating whether the woman was involved in a road accident, after they found missing Nuria Borras when she went missing at 4am on Sunday as she made her way home from a party.

Members of the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalan police), and fire services, joined hundreds of local residents in searching for the woman, who taught at the Manuel de Montsaur Institute.

Nuria’s husband, with whom she had two children, reported her missing on Saturday afternoon.

Her white Volvo was finally found in the canal, 500 metres away from where her mobile phone signal was last traced.

Officers are investigating whether the accident may have taken place at another point on the road and the canal’s current swept Nuria’s car away.
