“Implosion” is to be directed b ySören Voigt and is due to start this coming September. Most scenes will be filmed in the Manacor/ Felanitx area, with some scenes shot at the coast of Santanyi and the streets of Palma. For the moment Zip Films are looking to cast Álex Brendemühl as the protagonist, a Mallorquin/ German actor who played the starring role in Rafa Cortes’ film “Yo” and played along side Monica Lopez who has been nominated at the Goya prizes. By March this should be confirmed, when Zip Films will start looking for Mallorquin actors for the remaining roles.

The film is about a young German man, Thomas, who comes on holiday with his father, where they find themselves caught up in a shipment of illegal immigrants. Thomas falls in love with one of the survivors who teaches him how to see the world differently… Meanwhile his father Neils starts an affair with his Catalan teacher Angelica, a role to be played by award-winning Monica Lopez. There should a total of four weeks filming, approximately 110 scenes. The hotel is yet to be chosen however things seem to be coming together according to Bergen who has signed with Zip Films, assuring us that the go ahead should come through in March.
