BERJA - FOR the first time in years, the municipal budget in Berja has been approved without any arguments from the opposition parties, who simply abstained. Some 14,266,000 euros from the municipal coffers will be spent this year. The Junta de Andalucia and the Almeria Provincial Government have provided funds for the much awaited stage, which is planned to cost some 2.1 million euros.

Some 14,266,000 euros from the municipal coffers will be spent this year. The Junta de Andalucia and the Almeria Provincial Government have provided funds for the much awaited stage, which is planned to cost some 2.1 million euros.
There are projects planned such as paving local streets, building a padel tennis court and surfacing rural roads, which will amount to more than 3.5 million euros, of which 1.9 would be provided by higher authorities.
The tax councilor, Domingo Lopez, said that adjusting the budget to the current economic situation had taken a lot of time and effort.
However, the spokeswoman for PSOE, Isabel Arevalo, said that the investments are not credible and the PAL spokeswoman, Isabel Perez, said that her party was not happy about the fact that local cleaning services had been privatized.
