MALAGA Provincial Court is asking for two more courtrooms and six more judges to deal with the Malaya, Minutas and Ballena Blanca trials which are being held at the ‘City of Justice’, inaugurated in November 2007. Otherwise, they say, the cases will not be resolved in the estimated time. Although dates have not yet been set, it is believed that two or more of these major cases may coincide.

The Ballena Blanca case will probably begin between March and April, and will probably last approximately six months, while the Malaya case is due to start in June and last for one year. Therefore, the court has asked the Junta de Andalucia to open two new courtrooms for the trials, which are large enough for all the lawyers and involved parties.

They have also asked the Andalucian Supreme Court of Justice and the General Council of Judicial Power, to create a court with three new judges in each section to deal with day to day cases while other deal with these major proceedings.
