Six British soldiers arrested in Lanzarote

LANZAROTE - SIX British soldiers have been arrested in Costa Teguise, in Lanzarote, for allegedly smashing up a restaurant and causing bodily harm to several customers last Saturday. Several families were quietly dining at La Vaca Loca Argentinian restaurant when two of the soldiers came in asking directions to a night club.

LANZAROTE - SIX British soldiers have been arrested in Costa Teguise, in Lanzarote, for allegedly smashing up a restaurant and causing bodily harm to several customers last Saturday. Several families were quietly dining at La Vaca Loca Argentinian restaurant when two of the soldiers came in asking directions to a night club.

As they went to leave, they tried to take a bottle of wine and when the owner came out from behind the bar to prevent them from doing so, they allegedly began to attack him. The other men then entered the establishment and allegedly began to hit anyone who got in their way, resulting in several customers and staff having to go to hospital.

They were arrested by the Guardia Civil, who were also injured, and went before a judge on Monday, outside the courts, a group of injured people awaited with cuts, bruises and black eyes.

Witnesses say the soldiers were drunk and extremely violent and that they completely wrecked the restaurant. Some say it was as if the attack had been planned.
