Costa Blanca
Among the items up for grabs at Sunday’s Benidorm Has Talent is a 100 per cent authentic Rolex watch
IF you haven’t heard about Benidorm Has Talent (BHT) there must be a very good reason for it as this Sunday, November 29, the Benidorm Palace will host the biggest variety show ever staged on the Costa Blanca.
To put on a show this big takes a lot of work and the support of many local businesses, especially as it is in aid of AECC, the Spanish Association Against Cancer. The support BHT organisers have received has been unprecedented, as this fabulous event achieves three objectives: it gives the region’s talented individuals a platform to be seen and heard; it provides the media a much-needed positive message to be able to send out about the region; and, most importantly, it serves to raise awareness of cancer, an affliction which will affect one in three people.
Throughout the heats, the message was given to the many young members of the audience and performers that they should not wait until they are older to go and get a check-up, as it is often much too late.
At the final of BHT, several companies and organisations have kindly donated some incredible prizes to be raffled or auctioned to raise funds for AECC. Morne Botes from Roadshow EU has put up a fantastic Rolex watch, which will be auctioned on the night with all proceeds going to AECC.
For the raffle there are:two Hits Mobile phones courtesy of Telitec Telecommunications; a Harrods of Knightsbridge Christmas hamper worth 400 pounds donated by Blevins Franks and delivered directly to your door from anywhere in mainland Spain; a case of Moet & Chandon Champagne courtesy of 3C Care Agency; a gorgeous patio set kindly donated by Iron Art Factory Outlets; a flat screen TV courtesy of the Euro Weekly News; a Christmas hamper donated by Terra Mitica; and many others still to be confirmed. The Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) is a self-funded registered national charity, which is a non-profit organisation and has been running for more 50 years, supporting the health needs of and giving preventative advice to patients and their families.
