Paella competition in Valencia region

Many stalls competed for the much coveted Golden P

FINESTRAT’S traditional paella competition was celebrated on Sunday with 50 delicious Valencian rice dishes cooked up especially for the occasion. The Els Pringats stall came out on top , netting the Golden Paella award as the winner, followed by the Empetats stall which was awarded the Silver Paella award. The bronze was taken by the El Burro stall.
Around a thousand people flocked to the event in Carrer Nou, which included a bouncy castle for children and a match of the traditional local ball-game, pilota valenciana. Paella, arroz a banda and fideuà competitions are held annually throughout the region and some of the top restaurants in the Comunidad Valenciana compete for the coveted prizes.
They are often attended by silver-service establishments from all over Spain. Additionally, smaller, more local competitions are held with townspeople showing off their culinary skills.
