Baby dummies withdrawn from market

SEVERAL brands of dummies, chains and fasteners have been withdrawn from the market by consumer authorities.

Eight such brands are sold in Spain, according to the FACUA - ‘Consumers in Action’ and it has been discovered that they present a hazard.

The dummies, the Bebisana (ref. 407 batch 03/2007), Vidal (ref. 354 batch 02/2007) and Saro (ref. 4571) brands,  have teats which come loose easily.

The chain on the Bebisana (chain ref. 704) and fastener on the Selecta Spielzeug (fastener model 1387) dummies are easily broken.

A Suavinex brand (ref. 220939) of dummy can induce vomiting.

The Puppi brand (ref. 21CM/04-07) dummy and a Carrefour fastener (model Tex-Bebe) have also been ordered to be withdrawn from the market due to risk of asphyxiation and catching of the babies fingers.
