Local grandfather pens steamy novel

Author: Anthony James Barnett.

UNTIL he retired, Anthony James Barnett was more familiar with cement kilns than bookshops. He was a systems engineer on the project/development team of prestigious cement manufacturer, Lafarge. Since penning his novel, Without Reproach, he has been taken under the wing of Spanish publisher, Libros International.
Libros International will soon be gaining a reputation as the Dream Factory of the publishing world. The year 2007 saw the publishing house sign 50 new authors to its already successful stable of international authors.
Anthony says: “This has been one of the best Christmas presents I could have wished for. Having a novel published is what most authors dream of. No matter how many short stories are published, a novel is the pinnacle. I just hope none of the older grandchildren get their hands on it, though, or I’ll never be able to face them again.”
Anthony is actually no newcomer to the quill, having already made his mark as a short story writer. Since 1994, his work has featured in magazines, summer-specials, and international writing competitions. His stories have been broadcast on radio, appeared in newspapers, and recorded by ‘Talking Newspapers’. Onda Cero Radio presenter, Pauline McGough, is recording a collection of his short stories for an audio CD, to be released in 2008.
